What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual or multiple synthetic hairs that are attached to your natural eyelashes using a special adhesive. They are used to add length, volume, and fullness to your natural lashes and can be customised to achieve a number of styles.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my appointment?
How often should I come back for a refill?
It's recommended to come back for a refill every 2–3 weeks to maintain the fullness of your lash extensions. The natural shedding cycle of your lashes will also determine how often you need a refill. If you notice that your lash extensions are looking sparse, uneven or have less than 40% left, it may be time for a refill.
Do you offer infills from another salon?
Yes, we do! At Insight Lash Artistry, we accept foreign infills for Classic, Hybrid, Volume, and Wet Set lashes. However, we do not offer infills on Wispy or Anime lash sets. If you're unsure what style you currently have, feel free to send us a photo before booking!
What type of lashes do you use?
We only use high-quality, light, and soft lashes so that they feel weightless — even on full, glam Volume sets. You'll hardly notice you're wearing them! Comfort and a natural feel are so important to us.
Do you have sensitive glue available?
At Insight Lash Artistry, we use a low-fume adhesive, meaning the chances of a reaction are extremely low. However, if you have experienced reactions to lash extensions before, we recommend opting for alternatives like a Keratin Lash Lift or our no-mess Pop-On Clusters. Your comfort and safety are our top priority!
How do I clean my lashes?
For best results, we recommend purchasing a lash shampoo specially formulated for eyelash extensions at the salon. If you don't have one handy, you can use a gentle face cleanser: rub it into a bubbly foam, then glide it gently from the roots to the tips of your lashes. Always rinse with cold water and pat dry.
Can I remove my eyelash extensions by myself?
It is not recommended to remove eyelash extensions by yourself. A skilled and trained lash technician should be consulted for safe and effective removal.
Can I wear makeup with eyelash extensions?
Yes, you can wear make-up with eyelash extensions, but you should be careful to use oil-free products and avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on the extensions. It is best to use water-based products and remove your make-up gently.
Can I wear mascara with my extensions?
We strongly advise against applying mascara to your extensions. Mascara can cause your lashes to clump together and break down the adhesive, which means your lashes won't last as long.
Can I swim, shower, and exercise with eyelash extensions?
Yes, you can swim, shower, and exercise with eyelash extensions right after your appointment.
I sleep on my face and on my side — will this affect the extensions?
We want you to be as comfortable as you can be with lash extensions, especially when you're getting your beauty sleep! But it is best to sleep on your back when you have lash extensions. Sleeping on your face or side could unknowingly be rubbing your face into the pillow case, resulting in lashes being tugged and pulled out along with the extensions.
